Reactor Events:

The ultrasonic examination (UT) signal for nozzle 26 on Unit 1 of the Point Beach reactor identified flaw indications in the J-groove weld area that extend into the CRDM tube base material. There was also a dye-penetrant (PT) examination peformed and these tests indicated flaws in the weld that do not meet accepted flaw evaluation guidance. Unit 1 Nozzle 26 is planned to be repaired prior to placing the RPV Head back into service. The licensee notified the Resident Inspectors of the incident.

Plant status:

Dresden: U2: Mode 4. They are preparing for restart on Saturday.

U3: Mode 4. The 2, 3 EDG was removed from service for inspection following the reverse power trip. Yesterday there was an entrance meeting for the special inspection team. They will be onsite until next week. Projected startup for the unit is planned for today around 5:00pm.

Perry Full power and quiet.

Fermi Full power and quiet.

Quad Cities Ul: 85% power and quiet.

U2: 85% power and quiet.

Monticello Full power and quiet.

LaSalle Full power and quiet.

Yesterday, the end of cycle meeting went well.

Duane Arnold Full power and quiet.

Byron UI: Full power and quiet.

U2: Full power and quiet.

Braidwood UI: Full power and quiet.

U2: Full power and quiet.

Plant will go to elevated risk as the transformers are returned to service this weekend. The licensee has implemented abnormal procedures due to the high winds.

Clinton Full power and elevated risk due to planned work on switchyard. They are in an LCO due to ventilation system which they plan to exit today.

Davis-Besse Full power and quiet. Will go to 10xs baseline today due to relay checks

,-Paul Krohn - 815050704.wpd Page 2 1 Pg2 which they plan to complete later today. The plant was at 94% power yesterday due to one of the four circ water pumps being inoperable. INPO is currently onsite with plans for an exit today.

Prairie Island Ul: Full power and quiet U2: Full power and quiet.

Kewaunee Full power and quiet.

DC Cook UI: In a 72 hour8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> LCO due to turbine driven AFW pump inoperability. It is now operable and inspectors are still evaluating.

Palisades Full power and quiet.

End of cycle meeting went well yesterday Point Beach Ul: In day 34 of refueling outage. Licensee is preparing for head repair completion which is planned for this weekend. Restart is planned for the end of May.

U2: Full power and quiet.

NRR: None Materials Issues:

There was a call received yesterday from Mallinckrodt, Inc. regarding a depleted uranium empty shipping container that was lost approximately a year ago. They are required to notify the NRC when the deemed the container missing and will be providing a report for the Materials Inspection Branch to evaluate.

There was another call in which the Department of Veterans Affairs in Milwaukee reported that they have lost four tritium exit signs. They believed the signs were disposed of a year ago during a construction project. They will be providing the NRC a 30 day report. The inspectors will be evaluating.
