SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-413/88-31 AND 50-414/88-31 This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted by A. Tillman on August 15-19, 1988.
The inspection included a review of activities authorized for your Catawba Nuclear Station.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were d;3 cussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the repwt.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of ac+ivities in progress.
T6.e inspection findings indicate that certain activities appeared to violate NRC requirements.
However, because all of the criteria for categorization of licensee-identified violations were met, the violation is not being cited.
The details pertaining to the licensee-identified violction is described in the enclosed Inspection Report.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(d) and 10 CFR 73.21, safeguards activities and security measures are exempt from public disclosure.
Therefore, the enclosure to this letter with the exception of the report cover page, which presents a nonexempt sumary, will ng be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
