Inspection on March 12, 1982 (Report No. 50-373/82-07(DETP))
l Areas Inspected: Special announced inspection to witness a test on the fire suppression spray system protecting the cable trays in the cable spreading room. This previously identified item is documented as Item 50-373/82-11-09.
This inspection involved a total of ten inspector-hours onsite by two region
based NRC inspectors.
Results: No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Licensee Action on Previously Identified Items Open (50-373-82-11-09): The cable spreading room fire suppression system for the cable pans was tested on March 12, 1982. Two tests were conducted.
A.
The first test was intended to determine the amount of overspray involved during the discharge of one spray head into a ten foot length of cable pan.
B.
The second test was intended to determine the amount of spray impingement onto a cable pan ten feet from the' spray head.
The results of these tests will be formally documented by the applicant, conclusions will be drawn, reviewed and approved by the applicant, and the vendor (Viking) and then forwarded to the NRC-Region III office for review.
If it is determined by the applicant that redesign of this system is necessary, the system will be retested and reviewed by NRC-Region III.
After review and approval of the test results and installed configuration of this system by NRC, this item can be closed.
3.
Exit Interview The inspectors met with personnel denoted in Paragraph 1 at the conclusion of the inspection on March 12, 1982, to discuss the findings.
