Preservice inspection (PSI) of Unit 1 is to be completed approximately February 1980 and Unit 2 approximately December 1980.

General Electric Company hired NDT Services, Incorporated and Trans-Eastern Inspection, Incorporated to assist them in performing PSI.

Observation of Work and Work Activities The inspector observed and had discussions with GE personnel during the NDE. The observations included calibrations, performance of nondestructive examinations and review of documentation. The auto-matic vessel scanning system was observed performing ultrasound examinations of the circumferential seam weld "AB" between shell ring 1 and 2 on the reactor pressure vessel.

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.
