Cook Nuclear Plant The findings and conclusions of the SALP Board are documented in Reports No. 50-315/86007, and No. 50-316/86007.

They were discussed with the licensee on February 5,

1987 at the Donald C.

Cook Visitors Center in Bridgeman, Michigan.

The licensee's regulatory performance was presented in each functional area.

Overall performance and performance in each functional area was found to be acceptable.

The performance ratings improved in the areas of Security and Quality Programs and Administrative Controls Affecting Quality.

Additionally, performance in the area of Surveillance improved based on the reduction in the number of enforcement issues attributable to this area and the enhancement of test procedures; however, the number of licensee event reports indicates that additional licensee management attention is warranted.

While this meeting was primarily a discussion between the licensee and the NRC, it was open to members of the public as observers.
