Functional or Program Areas Examined 1.

Documentation Review The results of eddy current examination of Unit 1 steam generator tubes performed ay Conam Inspection in accordance with Wertinghouse (W) Procedure No. 42-EC-032, Regulatory Guide 1.83, Revision 1, and plant technical specifications during the January 1961 refueling l

outage were reviewed.

"A" Steam Generator 186 tubes were examined from the inlet side through the U-bend to the seventh outlet support plus all tubes in rows No. I and 2.

No recordable indications were recorded.

"B" Steam Generator

.

All accessible tubes were exarnined from the inlet side through the

'

first support. 360 tubes were examined full length and 2567 tubes examined from the inlet side through the seventh outlet support.

Sixteen (16) tubes contained identifiable discontinuties in the U-bend. The Row 1, Column I tube would not pass the probe through l

the U-bend end was reccmmended for plugging. One (i) tube had a l

30% indication at the seventh support on the outlet side.

"C" Steam Generator 2541 were examined from the inlet side through the U-bend to the seventh outlet support.

132 tubes were examined full length. Two (2) tubes contained indications which could not be qualified and were recommended to be plugged. Seven (7) tubes had indications in the U-bend near the seventh support, four with greater than 40%,

Examination Equipment The following equipment was recorded as being used to perform steam generator eddy current examination.

Oscilloscope - Model 5403, S/N B010541 Digital Counter - Model DC504, S/M B034627 Digital Voltmeter - Model DM502, S/N B030n58 Calibration Standard - Inconel 600, S/N n-40779 No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

2.

Inservice Inspection Program Review The ISI program for Unit 2 refueling outage, scheduled for September 1981, was reviewed. The following systems and components are scheduled for examination.

Reactor Pressure Vessel Pressurizer.

.

Steam Generators Piping Welds Reactor Coolant Pump Various System Valves

' Regenerative Heat Exchanger Seal Water Injection Filters Volume Control Tank Reactor Coolant Filters Seal Water Return Filters The inspector discussed with the licensee representative the ASME Code requirements for viaual examination VT-1, 2, 3, and 4.

The

,

j licensee proposes to revise their present visual examination pro-cedures for certifying quality control inspectors by incorporating,

.

the requirements for all four methods of visual examination.

i The inspector stated, that so long as documentation was available to determine the quality contrp1 inspector's area of certification, there seemed to be no reason for not incorporating the proposed changes for training and certification of inspectors in one procedure.

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

l Exit Interview The inspector met with licensee personnel (denoted in the Persons Contacted i
