Reactor Projects Sectica IB In_spection Summary Inspection on March 20, 1981 (Report No. 50-295/81-07)
Areas Inspected: Unit 1 Boron Injection Tank replacement program including review of procedures relative to installation and NDE: qualifications of welding procedure specifications, welaer qualifications, and qualification of inspection and NDE personnel. This inspection involved a total of 10 inspector-hours onsite by two h3C inspectors including 0 inspector-hours onsite during off-shifts.
Results: No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified in the area of inspection.

Frogram or Functional Areas Inspected Boron Injection Tank Replacement Procedures The inspectors reviewed the Boron Injection Tank (BIT) Replacement Repair program, RP-BITR-ISI0O221 dated March 10, 1981. The repair program consisted of replacing the existing Unit I stainless steel
- lad carbon steel boron injection tank with a stainless steel tank from Braidwood Station. The replacement BIT was installed by welding the new tanks pressure retaining connections to the existing inlet and outlet piping and associated instrument connections. The repair program was performed in accordance with ASME Section XI,1974 with 1975 addenda.
In addition the inspectors reviewed:
(1) Phillips-Getschow Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) IA-MA-88 Revision 10, January 2, 1979 (GTAW/SMAW, P-8, Consumable Insert) (2) Ceco maintenance / modification ptTcedure for the PIT replacement W.R. #Z-11683, (3) As-built drawing No bi-4-1 Revision 0, and ASME Code Data Report for the replacement tank built by Southwest Fabricating and Welding Company, and (4)
Certified Material Test Reports for welding materials used in the tank replacement.

NDE Procedures The insppctors reviewed those NDE procedures that are to be usad for examination of pipe welds performed for the boron injection tank replacement.
Specific procedures examined are:

Ceco Procedure NDT-A, Revision 6 dated November 20, 1980, Radio-graphic Examination. Acceptance criteria for this procedure is stated as in accordance with ANSI B.31.1-1973.
