Independent Inspection During walk-through inspections of the Unit 1 containmen The inspector observed several piping hanger and support installation activitie The work observed included drilling of concrete for installation of anchor bolts; assembling of supports at the installation sites; fit-up and tack welding of assemblies; and welding of support assemblie During these observations the inspector checked to see that proper approved work instructions were at the job sites; procedure steps were being signed as work progressed; and welding filler materials and other materials and tools were being properly controlle No violations or deviations were identifie.

Steam Generator Repair - Observation of Work and Work Activities (Unit 1)
Tha inspector observed the follow-ing* work and work activities associated with the steam generator repai Chicago Bridge and. Iron (CBI) welder training activitie Full thick-ness. mockups representing the steam generator girth weld were being used by CBI to train the welders to properly sequence the weld passes in order to minimize-the chanc~ of trapping slag and other impurities in the weld, to reduce th& chance of lack of fusion typ& of defects and to provide a. suitable surface for intermediate level nondestructive examination *
