Meeting Summary The NRC stated the primary purpose of the meeting was to emphasize the seriousness with which the transportation event is viewed.

Escalated enforcement action was being considered. The NRC summarized the inspection findings associated with the radiation surveys conducted on the radioactive waste shipment of April 21, 1980 to the Barnwell Burial facility. These findings are described in Inspection Report No. 50-259/80-21. TVA repre-sentatives stated their findings were similar.

TVA stated that they had corrected this problem and then described their revised program to assure that transportation requirements would be met.

This meeting also served to review the enforcement and operational history for the Browns Ferry and Sequoyah I facilities for the past year. Both facilities have resident inspectors. TVA management has been responsive to the NRC concerns.

Several other areas of common interest were discussed including the dedicated telephones, reporting requirements, communication with resident inspectors, security issues, inspector access, and IE Bulletins 79-01, 79-02 and 79-14 expectation and findings.

The interchange of views of the above topics was deemed fruitful and bene-ficial.
