North Anna Info Dave Heacock, CNO for Dominion gave me a brief rundown on the status of their recovery efforts and outreach to the media. They entertained journalists from six publications, including the Wash Post and Matt Wald from the NYT, today and gave them a tour. He also mentioned that a couple congressional staffers were on the tour. All visitors were very positive and surprised by the lack of damage. They showed them some wall cracks and minor indications that I've seen pictures of from our inspectors.

The licensee is also receiving feedback from their seismic and structural consultants with positive news. Although the peak accelerations were slightly above the SSE in selected frequencies, the plant came through the event well.

The licensee wants to come in and brief the staff face-to-face this next week. My thought, because of the need for information and engagement, is to take the hit on the 10 day metric and get the licensee in here so we can begin the dialogue we need to have and to get the information we need to address the larger safety issue for the site.

Bruce & Joe - please have DORL work with the licensee to get the public meeting set up assoon as practical for both us and the licensee. Let me know if you disagree with conducting the meeting with less than 10 day public notice.

Thanks!
