ATTACHMENT2TOAEP:NRC1039REVISEDPAGESFORTHEDONALDC.COOKNUCLEARPLANTUNITNO.1ANDUNITNO.2TECHNICALSPECIFICATIONS8903220i77S5'03i4PDRADOCK05000315)PPDC 4IffI ADMINISTRATIVECONTROLS6.11RADIATIONPROTECTIONPROGRAMProceduresforpersonnelradiationprotectionshallbepreparedconsistentwiththerequirementsof10CFRPart20andshallbeapproved,maintainedandadheredtoforalloperationsinvolvingpersonnelradiationexposure.6.12.HIGHRADIATIONAREA6.12.1Inlieuofthe"controldevice"or"alarmsignal"requiredbyparagraph20.203(c)(2)of10CFR20,eachhighradiationareainwhichtheintensityofradiationis1000mrem/hrorlessshallbebarricadedandconspicuouslypostedasahighradiationareaandentrancetheretoshallbecontrolledbyrequiringissuanceofaRadiationWorkPermit*.Anyindividualorgroupofindividualspermittedtoentersuchareasshallbeprovidedwithoraccompaniedbyoneormoreofthefollowing:a.Aradiationmonitoringdevicewhichcontinuouslyindicatestheradiationdoserateinthearea.b.Aradiationmonitoringdevicewhichcontinuouslyintegratestheradiationdoserateintheareaandalarmswhenapresetintegrateddoseisreceived.Entryintosuchareaswiththismonitoringdevicemaybemadeafterthedoseratelevelintheareahasbeenestablishedandpersonnelhavebeenmadeawareofit.cAnindividualqualifiedinradiationprotectionprocedureswhoisequippedwitharadiationdoseratemonitoringdevice.ThisindividualshallberesponsibleforprovidingpositioncontrolovertheactivitieswithintheareaandshallperformperiodicradiationsurveillanceatthefrequencyspecifiedbythefacilityHealthPhysicistintheRadiationWorkPermit.6.12.2Therequirementsof6.12.1shallalsoapplytoeachhigh.'adiationareainwhichtheintensityofradiationisgreaterthan1000mrem/hr.Whenpossible,lockeddoorsshallbeprovidedtopreventunauthorizedentryintosuchareas,andthekeysshallbemaintainedundertheadministrativecontroloftheShiftSupervisorondutyand/orthePlantHealthPhysicist(PlantRadiationProtectionSupervisor).Intheeventthatitisnotpossibleorpracticabletoprovidelockeddoorsduetoareasizeorconfiguration,positiveaccesscontrolwillbeprovidedbystationing,idesignatedindividualorindividualstopreventunauthorizedentry.~HealthPhysics(RadiationProtection)personnelshallbeexemptfromtheRWPissuancerequir<m~ntduringtheperformanceoftheir,assignedradiationprotectiondu:i's,providedtheycomplywithapprovedradiationprotectionpr<="<iuresforentryintohighradiationareas.D.C.COOK-UNIT16-21AmendmentNo.

ADMINISTRATIVECONTROLS6.11RADIATIONPROTECTIONPROGRAMProceduresforpersonnelradiationprotectionshallbepreparedconsistentwiththerequirementsof10CFRPart20andshallbeapproved,maintainedandadheredtoforalloperationsinvolvingpersonnelradiationexposure.6.12HIGHRADIATIONAREA6.12.1Inlieuofthe"controldevice"or"alarmsignal"requiredbyparagraph20.203(c)(2)of10CFR20,eachhighradiationareainwhichtheintensityofradiationis1000mrem/hrorlessshallbebarricadedandconspicuouslypostedasahighradiationareaandentrancetheretoshallbecontrolledbyrequiringissuanceofaRadiationWorkPermit*.Anyindividualorgroupofindividualspermittedtoentersuchareasshallbeprovidedwithoraccompaniedbyoneormoreofthefollowing:a.Aradiationmonitoringdevicewhichcontinuouslyindicatestheradiationdoserateinthearea.b.Aradiationmonitoringdevicewhichcontinuouslyintegratestheradiationdoserateintheareaandalarmswhenapresetintegrateddoseisreceived.Entryintosuchareaswiththismonitoringdevicemaybemadeafterthedoseratelevelintheareahasbeenestablishedandpersonnelhavebeenmadeawareofit.Anindividualqualifiedinradiationprotectionprocedureswhoisequippedwitharadiationdoseratemonitoringdevice.ThisindividualshallberesponsibleforprovidingpositioncontrolovertheactivitieswithintheareaandshallperformperiodicradiationsurveillanceatthefrequencyspecifiedbythefacilityHealthPhysicistintheRadiationWorkPermit.6.12.2Therequirementsof6.12.1shallalsoapplytoeachhighradiationareainwhichtheintensityofradiationisgreaterthan1000mrem/hr.Whenpossible,lockeddoorsshallbeprovidedtopreventunauthorizedentryintosuchareas,andthekeysshallbemaintainedundertheadministrativecontroloftheShiftSupervisorondutyand/orthePlantHealthPhysicist(PlantRadiationProtectionSupervisor).Intheeventthatitisnotpossibleorpracticabletoprovidelockeddoors~duetoareasizeorconfiguration,positiveaccesscontrolwillbeprovidedbystationingadesignatedindividualorindividualstopreventunauthorizedentry.*HealthPhysics(RadiationProtection)personnelshallbeexemptfromtheRWPissuancerequirementduringtheperformanceoftheirassignedradiationprotectionduties,providedtheycomplywithapprovedradiationprotectionproceduresforentryintohighradiationareas.D.C.COOK-UNIT26-21AmendmentNo.
