SUBJECT:

NORTH ANNA POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2,

SUMMARY

OF THE SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT (EPID NUMBER: L-2020-SLE-0000) (DOCKET NUMBERS: 50-338 AND 50-339)

Dear Mr. Stoddard:

A review team consisting of staff from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) participated in a remote audit during the week December 1, 2020, for North Anna Power Station, Units 1 and 2 (North Anna), as part of the subsequent license renewal application environmental review. The goal of the audit was to gather information to ensure that the environmental requirements for subsequent license renewal, as codified in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 51, were met. A letter dated November 19, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20322A052) was sent containing an audit plan.

An entrance meeting was held on December 1, 2020, to introduce participants and discuss audit logistics. During the remainder of the site audit, the NRC staff participated in smaller groups (breakout sessions) with Dominion representatives to address the audit needs identified in the audit plan. The enclosure to this letter provides a list of representatives from the NRC and Dominion who participated in the audit.

At the conclusion of the audit, the NRC staff summarized the status of the review with Dominion representatives during the exit meeting. Many of the NRCs questions identified in the audit plan or during the audit were answered through the conduct of the audit. Those that were answered but would be needed to be used in the site-specific Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement will be submitted (a) as supplement to the application, (b) as responses to requests for additional information (RAI), or (c) as responses to requests for confirmation of information (ML21012A341).
