ISSUANCE OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCOPING

SUMMARY

REPORT ASSOCIATED WITH THE STAFFS REVIEW OF THE NORTH ANNA POWER STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2, SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPID NUMBER: L-2020-SLE-0000) (DOCKET NUMBERS:

50-338 AND 50-339)

Dear Eric S. Carr:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the environmental scoping process and solicited public comments from November 15, 2022 to December 15, 2022 (87 FR 68522). This process determined the scope of the staffs environmental review of the application for subsequent renewal of the renewed facility operating licenses NPF-4 and NPF-7 for North Anna Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 (NAPS). The scoping process is the first step in the development of the NAPS site-specific Environmental Impact Statement (87 FR 68522).

The staff received written comments by letter, email, and through www.Regulations.gov. At the conclusion of the scoping process, the staff prepared the enclosed environmental scoping summary report identifying comments received during the scoping period. In accordance with Section 51.29(b) of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the staff will send a copy of the scoping summary report to all participants in the scoping process.

E. Carr 2 If you have any questions concerning the staffs environmental review of this subsequent license renewal application, please contact the Project Manager, Tam Tran, by telephone at 301-415-3617 or via email at tam.tran@nrc.gov.

Sincerely, Signed by Koenick, Stephen on 12/21/23 Stephen S. Koenick, Chief Environmental Project Management Branch 1 Division of Rulemaking, Environmental and Financial Support Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Docket Nos. 50-338 and 50-339
