By letter dated March 31, 2022 (Agencywide Document Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession No. ML22095A045), American Centrifuge Operating (ACO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Centrus Energy Corp. (Centrus), requested that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) modify its Materials License SNM-2011 and Supporting Documents for the American Centrifuge Plant (ACP) in Piketon, Ohio. The licensees letter requested the NRC to review and approve proposed changes to NR-SP-ACO-OR-0001, Security Program for American Centrifuge Operating, LLC at Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Specifically, the change to NR-SP-ACO-OR-0001 involves modification to the floor plan of ACOs Technology and Manufacturing Center to support its work-for-others initiatives. By letter dated June 23, 2022 (ML22175A047), ACO provided the final update to NR-SP-ACO-OR-0001.
The NRC staff has completed its review of the changes to NR-SP-ACO-OR-0001 and has found them to be acceptable. The details associated with the review are documented in the enclosed non-public security evaluation report. As part of this licensing action, License Condition 10.w has been modified to incorporate in the license, Revision 2 of NR-SP-ACO-OR-0001 submitted on June 23, 2022 (ML22175A047).
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter and Enclosure 3 will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR), or from the Enclosures 1 and 2 transmitted herewith contain security-related information. When separated from the sensitive conditions in the enclosures, this document and Enclosure 3 are decontrolled.
