Based upon a request by members of the NRC staff during telephone conversations held on May 5,1987, Georgia Power Company hereby submits a revision to our February 6,1987 submittal regarding Unit 1 Technical Specifications revisions to section 4.4.A.2 (Standby Liquid Control System). The revision consists of the addition of a new Surveillance Requirement which calls for a check of the sodium pentaborate enrichment at the beginning of each plant operating cycle. A method for verification of enrichment was previously proposed, to be under procedural controls, in GPC's letter to NRC of March 4, 1987.

This proposed revision constitutes an additional requirement beyond those proposed initially in our February 6,1987 submittal, and thus has no impact upon either the bases for the change request or the significant hazards evaluations contained in our February 6, 1987, submittal.

The proposed changed Technical Specifications page 3.4-2 is enclosed.

Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91, a copy of this letter and all applicable enclosures will be sent to Mr. J. L. Ledbetter of the Environmental Protection Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
