In accordance with your application dated February 22, 1989, and supplements dated March 9, April 12, and April 20, 1989, and pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations,.Part 70, Materials License No. SNM-910 is hereby amended to increase the possession limits to include 64 SPERT fuel rods, to author .

ize the use of the SPERT fuel for fissile assay by neutron interrogation, and to exempt the SPERT' fuel rods from the provisions of 10 CFR 70.24 when the linear. accelerator is operating. Accordingly, Conditions 10, 11, and 28 are revised as follows:

10. Authorized use: For receipt, possession, and use in accordanca with the statements, representations, and conditions specified in the application dated April 10, 1987, and supplements dated June 23, 1987; and February 1, February 22, March 9, April 12, and April 20, 1989.
11. Authorized place of use: The materials specified in Condition 6 shall be used in locations specified in the application dated April 10, 1987,

'and supplements dated June 23, 1987, and February 22, 1989.

28. The licensee is hereby exempt from the provisions of 10 CFR 70.24 insofar as this section applies to the materials-specified in Condition 6.A-H and provided that no more than 450 grams of special nuclear material, excluding encapsulated Pu-Be neutron sources, is present in any one room.at any one time.
