Plant Operations Summary - Aoril.1989

'. The following is a summary of Plant Operations for March,1989.

The plant operated at 100% power until March 6 at 1209 hours0.014 days <br />0.336 hours <br />0.002 weeks <br />4.600245e-4 months <br />, when the unit initiated a load reduction to 30% power for preventive maintenance. At 1500 hours0.0174 days <br />0.417 hours <br />0.00248 weeks <br />5.7075e-4 months <br />, the plant was at 30% load and the cleaning, inspecting and testing the Containment Air Recirculation (CAR) Fans commenced.

On March -21 at 1012 hours0.0117 days <br />0.281 hours <br />0.00167 weeks <br />3.85066e-4 months <br />, with maintenance completed, the plant began increasing load at 5% per day. At 1245 hours0.0144 days <br />0.346 hours <br />0.00206 weeks <br />4.737225e-4 months <br />, the load increase was halted due to a Dropped Rod indication on Rod 14 in C Bank. On March 22 at 1635 hours0.0189 days <br />0.454 hours <br />0.0027 weeks <br />6.221175e-4 months <br />, while at 40% load, Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power company achieved 84 Billion Kilowatt Hours production.

On March 29, the unit was at 65% power and at 0800 hours0.00926 days <br />0.222 hours <br />0.00132 weeks <br />3.044e-4 months <br />, a power reduedon was started to replace a seal on the B Main Feed Pump.

On March 30 at 1315 hours0.0152 days <br />0.365 hours <br />0.00217 weeks <br />5.003575e-4 months <br />, the unit was at 30% power to work on the Feed Pump.

The plant continued to operate at 30% power for the remainder of the month.
