We have responded to the recent inspection recommendation of  :

the University of Massachusetts Lowell research reactor in I the following manner. As of June 1, 1996, we will appoint a I staff member to take on the responsibilities of a health physics technician on a full-time basis. This move is made in response to the Radiation Safety Committee at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and USNRC studies which have specified the need for two permanent positions in the radiation safety office'.

Nuclear Radiation Chemist Position i

Effective June 1, 1996 the Nuclear Radiation Chemist position will be transferred into the Radiation Safety Office. This move is being made in response to the Radiation Safety Committee and USNRC studies which have specified the need for two permanent positions in the Radiation Safety Office.

The position description for the Nuclear Radiation Chemist l position has been modified to included new duties in the l Radiation Safety Office.
