The Universit-, of Lowell requests that the Univer. city of Lowell Reactor License No. R-125 be amended as follows:

1. Change Section 4.4.3, Technical Specifications, Appendix A to License R-125, to read:

4.4 Containment Building Specification

3. An integrated Icakage rate of the containment building, as is , shall be performed at a pressure of at least 0.5 psig at intervals of 2_4 months (1 4 mo.) to varify leakage rate of less than 10% of the building air volume / day at 2 psig.

This reduction in frequency from 12 to 24 months would bring the University of Lowell's Reactor Containment test frequency into line with the suggested freauency of ANSI N45.4 - 1972. Leakage rates measured each of the last four years have been less than 25% of that specified and show no signs of increasing.
