MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - PUBLIC MEETING REGULATORY CONFERENCE - EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT, DOCKET NOS. 50-321 AND 50-366

Dear Mr. Sumner:

This letter confirms the conversation between Mr. Ray Baker of your staff and myself on July 27, 2005, concerning a Regulatory Conference, being conducted at your request, which has been scheduled for August 16, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. (EST). The meeting notice, which provides additional details, is enclosed. The purpose of the Regulatory Conference is to discuss the risk significance of the inspection finding documented in Inspection Report 05000321,366/2005003. This finding involved inoperability of the Technical Support Center for greater than seven days and was preliminarily characterized as a very low to moderate safety significance (WHITE) finding.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).

LOCATION: Region II Office, Room 24T20 Sam Nunn - Atlanta Federal Center (Tower Building) 61 Forsyth Street, Atlanta, GA 30303 PURPOSE: The purpose of the Regulatory Conference is to discuss the risk significance of the inspection finding documented in Inspection Report 05000321,366/2005003. This finding involved inoperability of the Technical Support Center for greater than seven days and was preliminarily characterized as very low to moderate safety significance (WHITE) finding.
