Dear Mr. Maschka:

Your April 2,1987 letter which submitted Revision 9 to your physical security plan was referred to headquarters by Region V for review. We have completed our review and have determined that your physical security plan, Revision 9, dated September 1986 continues to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 73.67 and, accordingly, is acceptable.

Please note that your license limits you to less than formula quantities of SNM. Accordingly,10 CFR 73.21(a) does not apply and your physical security plan is incorrectly marked as Safeguards Information. You should review the contents of your physical security plan to determine if the plan contains company proprietary information and should be protected under the provisions of 10 CFR 2.790(d). Also, since you are a Category III facility possessing under 10 kg of special nuclear material of low strategic significance, you are not required to file a physical security plan with the NRC. You must, however, follow the requirements of 10 CFR 73.67(f) and (g).
