C. 20555 Attention: Mr. S. A. Varga Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2 Multi-Plant Action Item B-32, Administrative Technical Specification Change Gentlemen:
At the request of the NRC Staff, Alabama Power Company has reviewed a discrepancy between Technical Specification Table 3.3-3, Item 1.e.,
and FSAR Figure 7.3-1, Sheet 3, to determine if a bypass provision exists for the " differential pressure between steam lines - high" signal for safety injection actuation. The conclusion is that the FSAR is correct in showing no bypass provisions for this safety injection signal. The Technical Specification footnote indicating such a bypass is an administrative error.
Alabama Power Company hereby requests an administrative change to delete the incorrect footnote reference shown on Item 1.e. of Table 3.3-3 in the Farley Nuclear Plant Technical Specifications. This proposed change has been reviewed by the Plant Operations Review Commi ttee . The proposed change to the Technical Specification pages is included as an attachment. The Nuclear Operation Review Committee will review this change at a future meeting.
This letter is a supplement to the Alabama Power Company letter dated November 16, 1982. The class of this proposed change is designated as Class II for Unit 1 and Class I for Unit 2 in accordance with 10 CFR 170.22 requirements. A check for $1,600.00 to cover the total amount of fees required was enclosed with the November 16, 1982 l ette r. NRC approval is requested by September 1,1983.
