Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Third Interim Report on the Reportable Deficiency Concernina Improper Anchor Bolt Material Attached is the third interim report on the fabrication of anchor bolts from improper material. This report is submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e).

As noted in the report, the field testing program is essentially complete, but extensive evaluation is required by engineering to assess the significance of the field data and the reported non-conforming items.

As agreed in our conversation with you on December 31, 1979, a final report will be submitted to your office not later than February 1, 1980.
