Thestatistical analysisusingaWeibulldistribution approachisperformed usingtheindustryinspection dataprovidedbypastinspection experience, including thesampleplantinspection whichincludedthesameheatsofmaterialfromtheGinnavesselhead.Differences inmaterialsusceptibility, stressandtemperature areaddressed.

Notethattheanalysisconservatively assumesacrackoccursinthesampleplantinspected (whichcontained thesamematerialheatnumbersasGinna)immediately following theinspection.

TheCIRSEmodelutilizestheinformation developed inthefiniteelementmodel,thestatistical analysisand,others toevaluatethealternative scenarios forresponding totheissueofCRDMnozzlecracking.

Theprograminputandoutputareprocessed usingEXCEL.Theanalysisapproachconsistsof:establishing theinputparameters, predicting crackinitiation andgrowthateachplannedrefueling outage,assessing thetotalnumberofnozzlesrequiring corrective actionateachrefueling outage,calculating thecostofanyplannedinspections andremedialmeasuresplusanyrequiredrepairsateachrefueling outage.Presentworthofthefuturecostsarealsotabulated.
