ME5744)
==Dear Mr. Wells:==
On February 24,2012, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment No. 280 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML 120110282) to Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-49 for the Duane Arnold Energy Center (the licensee). The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) and Renewed Facility Operating License in response to your application dated February 23, 2011, as supplemented by letters dated April 20, 2011; August 15, 2011; November 1. 2011; and February 3, 2012. The amendment revised the TSs by relocating specific surveillance frequencies to a controlled program, the Surveillance Frequency Control Program, based on NRC-approved TS Task Force (TSTF) Traveler TSTF-425, Revision 3, "Relocate Surveillance Frequencies to Licensee Control-RITSTF [Risk-Informed TSTF] Initiative 5b." Following issuance of the amendment, the NRC staff was informed by the licensee that TS Page 3.7-10 was missing the reference to the new amendment number (Le., "280") at the bottom of the page. The NRC staff concludes that this omission was entirely administrative in nature, was inadvertently introduced, and was not the subject of the amendment or the associated notice to the public. Therefore, in accordance with the NRC's policy established by SECY -96-238 (ADAMS Accession No. 9611250030 (Legacy Library)), this error can be corrected by a letter. Please find enclosed the replacement Page 3.7-10. This correction does not change any of the conclusions in the safety evaluation associated with the amendment. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call me at (301) 415-3079.
