PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2- NOTIFICATION OF NRC INSPECTION AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Importance: High  Good Morning Benjamin J. Hammargren, On October 6, 2014 the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will begin inspection at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2. This inspection will be performed in accordance with the NRC Temporary Instruction 2515/189, "Inspection to Determine Compliance of Dynamic Restraint (Snubber) Program with 10 CFR 50.55a Regulatory Requirements for Inservice Examination and Testing of Snubbers", issued on September 25, 2013. The onsite portion of the inspection is scheduled to take place on October 6th thru October 10th 2014. The onsite portion of the inspection can be subject to change dependent on when the Unit 1 inservice inspection and inservice testing of snubbers takes place. This inspection will focus on the Unit 1 inservice inspection and inservice testing of snubbers in accordance with the regulatory requirements of 10 CFR 50.55a. Experience has shown that the Temporary Instruction inspections are extremely resource intensive, both for the NRC inspectors and the licensee staff. In order to minimize the inspection impact on the site and to ensure a productive inspection for both parties, we have enclosed a request for documents needed for the inspection. I have discussed the schedule for these inspection activities with Ms. Penny S. Oleson and understand that the regulatory contact for this inspection will be you Mr. Benjamin J. Hammargren. - NOTIFICATION OF NRC INSPECTION AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Importance:

High Good Morning Benjamin J. Hammargren, On October 6, 2014 the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will begin inspection at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2

. The onsite portion of the inspection is scheduled to take place on October 6 th thru October 10 th 2014.

Benjamin J. Hammargren.

If there are any questions about this inspection or the material requested, please contact the inspector, Mr. J. Bozga, at (630) 829
