OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CALL HELD ON FEBRUARY 22,2011, BETWEEN THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ENTERGY OPERATIONS, INC. REGARDING PROGRESS ON NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (NFPA) STANDARD 805 TRANSITION ACTIVITIES A teleconference was held between representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff to discuss progress on the Palisades Nuclear Plant (PNP) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 805 transition activities.
ENO submitted "Palisades NFPA 805 Project Milestones" table (see Enclosure
: 1) which provides the list of NFPA 805 transition activities and their status. The enclosure provides the status of each task and shows several tasks as complete.
Some of the task completion dates were pushed out due to rearrangement of the priorities.
However, the licensee still shows the target date for Palisades NFPA 805 project completion as May 27,2011. The licensee will be bringing additional resources as necessary to support this date and will also incorporate comments from independent Probabilistic Risk Assessment peer reviews and any lessons learned from the Oconee Safety Evaluation Report. Background On December 9, 2008 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML083260577), NRC staff granted additional enforcement discretion to Palisades.
ENO in its letter dated November 25, 2008 (ADAMS Accession No. ML083370155) made a commitment to conduct a monthly teleconference with the NRC staff to discuss progress on the PNP NFPA 805 transition activities.
