MEETING SUMMMARY August 16,2010 LICENSEE: CONSTELLATION ENERGY FACILITY: R. E. GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

SUBJECT:

SUMMARY

OF THE AUGUST 2010 SUPPLEMENTAL INSPECTION EXIT AND REGULATORY PERFORMANCE MEETING WITH CONSTELLATION ENERGY On August 4, 2010, at 5:00 p.m., the NRC conducted a Supplemental Inspection Exit and Regulatory Performance Meeting at the Ontario Town Hall in Ontario, NY. The NRC held the meeting with Constellation Energy management to prE!Sent the results of the 95002 supplemental inspection, and discuss with Constellation issues associated with two "white" findings and one "white" Performance Indicator for the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant regarding the turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater pump failures that occurred between December 2008 and July 2009.

The NRC presented and discussed the results of the 95002 supplemental inspection, which was conducted July 12 through July 23,2010. The NRC also presented the results of NRC's performance assessment for Ginna. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, Constellation presented its perspective regarding the plant's performance.

The public was invited to observe this meeting. At the end of the meeting between the NRC and Constellation, public attendees were offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Constellation's performance at Ginna and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.

A notice of the meeting was issued on July 21,2010, and was posted on the NRC's public web page (ADAMS Accession No. ML102010415). The NRC slides for this meeting (ML102250042) and Constellation's slides for this meeting (ML 102250(81), can also be found on the NRC's public web page. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at www.nrc.gov/reading rm/adams.html.

The NRC's inspection report will be issued within 45 days of the exit meeting.
