By letter dated April 24, 2014, the staff at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested additional information from Pennsylvania State University (PSU) regarding the annual certification of financial assurance for decommissioning using the self-guarantee. In an e-mail dated May 15, 2014, PSU requested additional time to respond; this request was granted by letter dated May 22, 2014. In an e-mail dated June 23, 2014, PSU requested an additional 30 days, citing difficulty in obtaining the requested information from the universitys independent auditor. | |||
By this letter, PSU has been granted an additional thirty (30) days to respond to the request of additional information. The response is due by no later than Wednesday, July 23, 2014. | |||

Dear Mr. Leavey:
By letter dated April 24, 2014, the staff at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requested additional information from Pennsylvania State University (PSU) regarding the annual certification of financial assurance for decommissioning using the self-guarantee. In an e-mail dated May 15, 2014, PSU requested additional time to respond; this request was granted by letter dated May 22, 2014. In an e-mail dated June 23, 2014, PSU requested an additional 30 days, citing difficulty in obtaining the requested information from the universitys independent auditor.
By this letter, PSU has been granted an additional thirty (30) days to respond to the request of additional information. The response is due by no later than Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
