APPROVAL OF PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY REQUEST TO CHANGE PRINCIPAL OFFICER RESPONSIBLE FOR SPECIAL NUCLEAR MATERIAL LICENSE SNM-95; DOCKET NUMBER 070-0113 (CAC/EPID 000222/07000113/L-2019-PMP-0202)
Dear Dr. Guo:
By letter dated October 25, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML19317D849), you provided a request to amend Special Nuclear Material License (SNM-95), regarding the principal officer responsible for the safe use of radioactive material, excluding the Hershey Medical Center, College of Medicine and the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Specifically, Dr. Lora Weiss was named to replace Dr. Neil Sharkey as the senior university official responsible for the material license.
By letter dated December 11, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19350A000), you responded to our request for additional information, dated November 27, 2019 (ADAMS Accession No. ML19330E288), to include details on the qualifications of Dr. Weiss for the position and a current chart identifying the organizational relationship of the senior university official for the use of radioactive material to university management. The request to amend SNM-95, is hereby approved. Condition 10 is modified to incorporate, by reference, the letters of October 25, 2019 and December 11, 2019. All other conditions of the license remain the same. Enclosed is a copy of the amended SNM License (SNM-95) and the Safety Evaluation Report.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs ADAMS. Enclosure 3 will not be publicly available. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
