SUMMARY

OF APRIL 17, 2008, MEETING WITH THE CONNECTICUT NUCLEAR ENERGY ADVISORY COUNCIL (NEAC)

On April 17, 2008, at 6:00 p.m., a meeting was conducted at the Waterford Town Hall, Waterford, CT, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and NEAC to discuss the implementation of the Reactor Oversight Process and to answer questions regarding the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant performance for calendar year 2007.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Millstone for the period from January 1 through December 31, 2007. The NRC presentation included a discussion of the Reactor Oversight Process and the NRCs 2007 Millstone performance assessment results. As part of the meeting, the NRC provided NEAC with an overall assessment of plant performance and with specific information concerning selected inspection findings.

The public observed the meeting and was offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Dominions performance at Millstone and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
