St.LucieUnit2,Cycle9StartupPhysicsTestingReportProperoperationofthereactivitycomputerwasverifiedthroughtheperformanceoftwotests.Inthefirst,reactorpowerwaselevatedsuf5cientlyhightoensuremaximumsensitivityofthereactivitymeasuringsystemandatthesametimepreserveadequatemargintothepointofaddingheat.Thesecondtestascertainedtheresponsetoaknownvalueofpositiveornegativereactivitybymeasuringthevaluesofpositiveornegativereactorperiodsthatresult.TheresultsofthereactivitycomputercheckoutwerecomparedtotheappropriatepredictionssuppliedinthereloadPC/M112-295(Reference5).Satisfactoryagreementwasobtained.Themeasurementoftheall-rods-outcriticalboronconcentrationwasperformed.Themeasuredvaluewas1561ppmwhichcomparedfavorablywiththedesignvalueof1547ppm.Thiswaswithintheacceptancelimitsof+100ppm.Themeasurementoftheisothermaltemperaturecoefficientwasperformedandtheresultingmoderatortemperaturecoefficient(MTC)wasobtained.TheMTCwasdeterminedtobe0.56pcm/'Fwhichfellwellwithintheacceptancecriteriaof+2.0pcm/'FofthedesignMTCof-0.044pcm/'F(corrected).Additionally,thissatisfiestheUnit2TechnicalSpecificationwhichstatesthattheMTCshallbelesspositivethan5.0pcm/'F.ThefinalsectionofinterestforzeropowerphysicstestingisinthemeasurementofCEAgroupworths.Rodworthmeasurementswereperformedusingtherodswapmethodology.Thismethodinvolvesexchangingthereferencegroup,whichismeasuredbytheborationdilutiontechnique,witheachoftheremainingtestgroups.AcomparisonofthemeasuredanddesignCEAreactivityworthsisprovidedinTable3.Thefollowingacceptancecriteriaappliestothemeasurementsmade:1)Themeasuredvalueofeachtestgroupiswithin+15%or+100pcmofthedesignCEAworths,whicheverisgreater,and2)ThemeasureworthofthereferencegroupandthetotalworthforalltheCEAgroupsmeasurediswithin+10%ofthetotaldesignworth.Allacceptancecriteriaweremet.ecninProraDuringpowerascension,thefixedincoredetectorsystemisutilizedtoverifythatthecoreisloadedproperlyandthattherearenoabnormalitiesoccurringinvariouscoreparameters(corepeakingfactors,linearheatrate,andtilt)forpowerplateausat25%,50%,80%andgreaterthan98%

St.LucieUnit2,Cycle9StartupPhysicsTestingReportProperoperationofthereactivitycomputerwasverifiedthroughtheperformanceoftwotests.Inthefirst,reactorpowerwaselevatedsuf5cientlyhightoensuremaximumsensitivityofthereactivitymeasuringsystemandatthesametimepreserveadequatemargintothepointofaddingheat.Thesecondtestascertainedtheresponsetoaknownvalueofpositiveornegativereactivitybymeasuringthevaluesofpositiveornegativereactorperiodsthatresult.TheresultsofthereactivitycomputercheckoutwerecomparedtotheappropriatepredictionssuppliedinthereloadPC/M112-295(Reference5).Satisfactoryagreementwasobtained.Themeasurementoftheall-rods-outcriticalboronconcentrationwasperformed.Themeasuredvaluewas1561ppmwhichcomparedfavorablywiththedesignvalueof1547ppm.Thiswaswithintheacceptancelimitsof+100ppm.Themeasurementoftheisothermaltemperaturecoefficientwasperformedandtheresultingmoderatortemperaturecoefficient(MTC)wasobtained.TheMTCwasdeterminedtobe0.56pcm/'Fwhichfellwellwithintheacceptancecriteriaof+2.0pcm/'FofthedesignMTCof-0.044pcm/'F(corrected).Additionally,thissatisfiestheUnit2TechnicalSpecificationwhichstatesthattheMTCshallbelesspositivethan5.0pcm/'F.ThefinalsectionofinterestforzeropowerphysicstestingisinthemeasurementofCEAgroupworths.Rodworthmeasurementswereperformedusingtherodswapmethodology.Thismethodinvolvesexchangingthereferencegroup,whichismeasuredbytheborationdilutiontechnique,witheachoftheremainingtestgroups.AcomparisonofthemeasuredanddesignCEAreactivityworthsisprovidedinTable3.Thefollowingacceptancecriteriaappliestothemeasurementsmade:1)Themeasuredvalueofeachtestgroupiswithin+15%or+100pcmofthedesignCEAworths,whicheverisgreater,and2)ThemeasureworthofthereferencegroupandthetotalworthforalltheCEAgroupsmeasurediswithin+10%ofthetotaldesignworth.Allacceptancecriteriaweremet.ecninProraDuringpowerascension,thefixedincoredetectorsystemisutilizedtoverifythatthecoreisloadedproperlyandthattherearenoabnormalitiesoccurringinvariouscoreparameters(corepeakingfactors,linearheatrate,andtilt)forpowerplateausat25%,50%,80%andgreaterthan98%
