ARMED FORCES RADIOBIOLOGY RESEARCH INSTITUTE - NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT NO. 05000170/2021201

Dear Mr. Cook:

From July 12 - 14, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted a security inspection at the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute reactor facility. The inspection results were discussed on July 14, 2021. The enclosed report documents the inspection results.

The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security, compliance with the Commission rules and regulations, and with the conditions of your license.

The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel. Based on the results of this inspection, no security concerns or non-compliances with NRC requirements were identified. No response to this letter is required.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRC's document system (Agencywide Documents and Access Management System (ADAMS)).

ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). However, because of the security-related information contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390(d), a copy of the enclosure will not be available for public inspection.

Document transmitted herewith contains sensitive unclassified information.
