EVENT DESCRIPTION AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS The copper service water pipe support spacing table was determined to be inadequate for three reasons: 1) ANSI B31.1 not properly considered, i - 2) main service water header induced loads not considered, and 3) concen-trated loads not properly recognized. Based on 1.5 years experience with i the existing supports and a full baseline inspection conducted during the current refuel outage, we have concluded that the system is functional, t

but will require additional supports to fully comply with all aspects of B31.1. Until full compliance is achieved, interim measures will be

. performed as stated in Confirmatory Action Letter 83-04 dated 6/17/83.

A Request for Extension to the Order for Modification of License for completion of the Torus Long Term Program has been submitted by letter, 3 VYNPC to USNRC, FVY-83-55 dated June 13, 1983. Remaining pipe supports '

will be designed and installed as required to meet the Order for Modification.
