On February 25, 1980 the Aamodt family intervenors filed a further set of interrogatories requiring responses from Licensee.
(Although designated as the " third set", the February 25 filing is actually the sixth set of interrogatories received by Licensee " rom the Aamodt family.)    These interrogatories are identified as relat-ing to Aamodt Contention No. 4.      Licensee agrees with this assess-ment as to Interrogatory Nos. 1 through 3, and, therefore, does not object to these interrogatories.      However, Interrogatory Nos. 4 through 10 are unrelated to Aamodt Contention NO. 4, or to any other Aamodt contention accepted by the Licensing Board, and Licensee, therefore, objects to Interrogatory Nos. 4 through 10.

LICENSEE'S OBJECTIONS TO THE THIRD

[ SIC; SIXTH] SET OF AAMODT INTERROGATORIES

^

DATED FEBRUARY 25, 1980 On February 25, 1980 the Aamodt family intervenors filed a further set of interrogatories requiring responses from Licensee.

The Aamodt family's emergency planning contentions were discussed by the Licensing Board in its Fourth Special Prehearing Conference Order (dated February 29, 1980). Contention No. 3, relating generally to Licensee's environmental monitoring program, was rejected as impermissibly vague and nonspecific (id. at 4).

8004100437

/ Similarly, Aamodt Contention No. 6, relating generally to the adequacy of the 10-mile EPZ and radiation monitoring, was re-jected for failing to specify local conditions which would war-rant a departure from the 10-mile EPZ and because of vagueness (pl. at 6). What was accepted by the Licensing Board were Aamodt Contention No. 4, relating to the public dissemination of infor-mation on all radioactive releases, and Aamodt Contention No. 5, relating to the care and/or relocation of livestock during an emergency (id. at 5-6).

With this background, Licensee objects to Interrogatory Nos. 4 through 10 for the following reasons:

(a) Interrogatory No. 4 seeks information on the monitoring of a radioactive plume beyond the 10-mile EPZ. This relates to rejected Contention Nos. 4 and 6. Licensee therefore objects.

(b) Interrogatory No. 5 seeks information on protec-tive measures for the population beyond the 10-mile EPZ. This relates solely to rejected Contention No. 6. Licensee therefore objects.

(c) Interrogatory No. 6 seeks information on the im-pact that evacuees might have on the ability of people beyond the 10-mile EPZ to take protective action. This too relates solely to rejected Contention No. 6. Licensee therefore objects.

(d) Interrogatory Nos. 7 through 9 seek information on various issues related to evacuations. Aamodt Contention Nos.

4 and 5 do not relate to this matter. Licensee therefore objects.

,. . . - r (e) Interrogatory No. 10 seeks information on the additional manpower resources that may be needed during an emer-gency. This information is unrelated to Aamodt Contention Nos.

4 or 5, and Licensee therefore objects.
