NRC STAFF MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME There are currently pending before this Atomic Safety and Licensing Board (1) a request for a hearing and petition to intervene filed on behalf of Three Mile Island Alert, Inc. ("TMIA"), dated August 31, 1987, (2) a petition to intervene filed on behalf of Susquehanna Valley Alliance
( "SVA"), dated September 2, 1987, and (3) a petition to participate in this proceeding under the provisions of 10 CFR 9 2.715(c) filed on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, dated September 3,1987.
Pursuant to 6 2.714(c), the Staff's responses to these petitions would be due by September 21r t for TMIA, September 22nd for SVA, and September 23rd for the Commonwealth.
Due to scheduling considerations affecting Staff counsel assigned to this proceeding, the Staff hereby requests a short extension of time, until September 25, 1987, to file responses to the petitions.
Staff counsel has contacted, or attempted to contact, the petitioners and the licensee regarding this motion. Ms. Skolnick on behalf of SVA has no objection to the extension.

. recognize Ms. Skolnick as the representative of TMI A in this proceeding, since that, request has not yet been granted the Staff also attempted to contact Ms. Stuchinski, the Chairperson of TMI A.
The Staff was, however, unable to reach her,- since her telephone number is unlisted.
The Staff was unable to contact counsel for the Commonwealth. The Staff 4
did discuss this motion with counsel for the licensee, who indicated that libensee was opposed to the extension but would not file a written opposition.
