Attached to this letter is the March, 2002, Monthly Operating Report for the Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS). The unit began reducing power on March 21, 2002, for Refuel XII, which continues at this time.

This submittal is being made in accordance with the requirements of Wolf Creek Generating Station Technical Specification 5.6.4, "Monthly Operating Reports." SUMMARY

The unit operated at approximately 100% power, Mode 1, from March 1, 2002, until 1900 on March 21, 2002, when the unit commenced reducing power for the scheduled Refuel Outage XII. At 0005, March 23, 2002, the Main Generator output breakers were opened, and at 0145, the unit entered Mode 2. At 0209, the unit entered Mode 3; at 0853, Mode 4; and at 1240, Mode 5. At 1317, the Reactor Trip breakers were opened. At 1146 on March 27, 2002, the unit entered Mode 6, when the first Reactor Vessel stud was detensioned. The unit is continuing in Refuel XII with maintenance and testing activities.
