SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FOR THE 60-DAY RESPONSE TO NRC GENERIC LETTER 2006-03, "POTENTIALLY NONCONFORMING HEMYC AND MT FIRE BARRIER CONFIGURATIONS" NRC Generic Letter (GL) 2006-03, "Potentially Nonconforming Hemyc and MT Fire Barrier Configurations," dated April 10, 2006, was issued to request information from licensees regarding Hemyc and MT fire barriers, or other fire barriers using the materials and configurations described in the generic letter.

Callaway Plant provided the information requested by Generic Letter 2006-03 with ULNRC-05294, a letter dated June 1, 2006.

Two related questions were raised on the last paragraph on the second page of Callaway's response letter. Specifically, what guidance was used for the installation of the Darmatt fire barrier material and how were any deviations evaluated.

The fire barrier material was tested and installed with the guidance provided in NRC GL 86-10, Supplement 1, "Fire Endurance Test Acceptance Criteria for Fire Barrier Systems Used to Separate Redundant Safe Shutdown Trains within the Same Fire Area". Any deviations from the tested configurations were evaluated against GL 86-10, Supplement 1.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 182a of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and 10 CFR 50.54(f), AmerenUE is submitting this letter under oath and affirmation, as clarified in Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2001-18, "Requirements for Oath or Affirmation."
