AmerenUE P0 Box 620 Callaway Plant Fulton, MO 65251 December 8, 2005 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Mail Stop P1-137 Washington, DC 20555-0001 ULNRC-05234 Ladies and Gentlemen:

DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT UNIT 1 UNION ELECTRIC CO.

FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-30 WITHDRAWAL OF REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF DELTA PRODUCTS MURUROA BLU SELF FEED SINGLE USE SUITS

References:

1) ULNRC-05152, dated June 1, 2005
2) NRC letter form Jack Donohew to Charles Naslund, dated September 14, 2005 Pursuant to the provision of 10 CFR 20.1703, "Use of Individual Respiratory Protection Equipment," and 10 CFR 20.1705, "Application for use of higher assigned protection factors," Union Electric Company (AmerenUE) requested by reference 1 an authorization to use the French designed respiratory equipment with an assigned protection factor (APF). The letter submitted requests for the Delta Protection Mururoa BLU self fed single use suits, and the Mururoa V4 FI and V4 MTH2 air supplied single use suits.

Our request concerning Mururoa V4 FI and V4 MTH2 air supplied single use suits remains as originally submitted in referenced 1 and approved by NRC in reference

2. However, AmerenUE is withdrawing the request for authorization to use of the Mururoa BLU self fed single use suits. This is based on discussions with Delta Products that a typical report on the Mururoa BLU self fed single use suits has been submitted to the NRC with request for approval prior to our next refueling outage scheduled for spring 2007.
