In the above references, HL&P provided information pert.aining to confirmatory item #8 of the South Texas Project Safety Evaluation Report (SER), NUREG-0781. This letter provides additiorcl fnformation regarding the item, momentary fuel assembly liftoff, as requested by members of your staff.

The following is enclosed:

1. 20 copies of " Supplemental Information Relative to Momentary Fuel Assembly Liftoff, Specific Data - TGX Fuel Assembly Forces" (Proprietary).
2. 20 copies of " Supplemental Information Relative to Momentary Fuel Assembly Liftoff, Specific Data - TGX Fuel Assembly Forces" (Non-Proprietary).

Also enclosed is a Westinghouse authorization letter, (CAW-86-056),

Proprietary Information Notice, and accompanying Affidavit.

As item 1 contains information proprietary to Westinghouse Electric Corporation, it is supported by an affidavit signed by Westinghouse, the owner of the information. The affidavit sets forth the basis on which the information may be withheld from pub 1Le disclosure by the Commission and I addresses with specificity the considerations listed in paragraph (b)(4) of Section 2.790 of the Commission's regulations.
