EASE CONCERNING RADI0 ACTIVE LEAKAGE FROM AF1WSAS NUCLEAR ONE Tne Arkansas Nuclear One General l'innt Manager was interviewed on October 16, 1979 by an Arkansas Gazette reporter concerning reports of radioactive leakage from the Arkansas Nuclear One site. There were two instances cited. One occurred on September 26, 1979 when there had been leakage past the packing on two of the primary system sample valves inco che Unit 1 Auxiliary Building.

The second event occurred on October 12, 1979 when there had been Shutdown Cooling heat Exhanger Isakage into the Service Water System, ne NRC Resident Inspector had been infor=ed of both instances. Neither the Facility Technical Specffication or Regulatory L1=1cs were exceeded in either instance.

An article was subsequently published in the Arkansas Gszette on October 17, 1979. The Keglun 17 (Texas) Resident Inspcctot was netified that the interview of the General Plant Mansger had taken place on October 16, 1979 at 7:30 p.m.
