ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO TROPICAL STORM "B0B" Region II has taken the following actions as the result of the National Weather Service's upgrading of a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico to a tropical storm, designated

" Bob":

-Both Florida Power Corporation and Florida Power and Light Company have been contacted to confirm that they are following the storm's progress.

As of 6 a.m. (EDT) today, the storm was near latitude 26.4 north and longitude 82.6 west, about 40 miles west of Fort Myers, Florida. It is moving east-northeast at four miles an hour. This motion is expected to continue, with a turn toward the northeast in 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br />.

On this course, " Bob" will make landfall between Naples and Venice, Florida, early this afternoon. Highest sustained winds have increased to 50 miles an hour with gusts to 70 mph. Tides of three to five feet above normal are expected along the southwest Florida coast south of Venice. Probabilities are 24 percent to 25 percent that the stonn will pass W
