SUMMARY

OF CALL WITH TRISO-X, LLC. HELD ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2025, TO DISCUSS SUPPLEMENTS FOR SET 9, REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION-4 AND 5 FOR HUMAN FACTORS (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER NO.

L-2022-PMP-0005)

On September 15, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a call with TRISO-X, LLC. (TRISO-X) to discuss a request for supplement to the responses on Set 9, Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) 4 and 5 regarding the Human Factors (HF),

submitted April 4, 2025 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML25094A188), and supplemented August 5, 2025 (ML25217A455). Prior to the call, the NRC staff provided TRISO-X with a list of the supplemental information needed to resolve the RAIs 4 and 5, see enclosure. During the call, the NRC staff explained that the supplemental information submitted on August 5, 2025, provided the bulk of information necessary to resolve the RAIs, but some clarifications were needed.

For RAI-4, the NRC staff requested TRISO-X to provide more information on the pedigree of the training program and materials. TRISO-X should provide additional information on the organization they plan to use to conduct the training. They should also confirm that the HF staff demonstrate a minimum level of competency upon completing the training.

For RAI-5, TRISO-X should update the human factors engineering (HFE) plan to better describe the verification process for the human system interface. TRISO-X should clarify several cross references within the HFE plan. The NRC staff asked TRISO-X to identify the specific sections of the Center for Chemical Process Safety HF Methods for Improving Performance in the Process Industries document that they plan to use and clarify use of a checklist identified in the document.
