Thecitedprecedent(SequoyahUnit1and2,ML22263A375)forAlternaveRequestV1includesaddionalcontrolsfor mechanicalagitaonofcheckvalvesthatdonotappearpresentinthisrequest.Forexample,thecontrolsinthe precedentrequirethattheimpactsurfaceofthetoolshouldberelavelylarge(greaterthan1/2diameterispreferred) andapproximately"atorslightlyrounded.Ifavailable,arubbercoatedtoolmaybeused.Thosecontrolsalsospecify thatthetoolwillnotimpactthebodywithanedgeorsharppoint.Further,thecontrolsspecifythatagitaonshouldbe appliedincrementallystarngwithminimalforceandmaybeappliedtodierentlocaonsonthebody.Inorderto preventdamagetothevalveorinjurytopersonnel,thelicenseeisrequestedtoprovideaddionalguidancetothis extentwithinAlternaveRequestV1andallguidanceshouldbelistedinsequenceforbeerimplementaon.

Secon6.AofAlternaveRequestV1isentledReviewofMaintenanceHistoryforValvesinSecon1,butthe discussionfocusesonleakagetesngresultsforthesubjectcheckvalves.Thelicenseeisrequestedtoprovide informaonregardingthemaintenancehistoryofthecheckvalvesinaddiontotheleakagetesngresults,tosupport theasseronthatthesecheckvalveshaveahistoryofgoodperformance.Forexample,thecitedprecedentdiscussed visualinspeconresultsandfreedomofmovementchecksoftheapplicablecheckvalves.Inaddion,thelicensee shoulddiscussanysigni"cantmaintenanceacviesforthecheckvalveswithinthescopeofAlternaveRequestV1, suchaslessonslearneddescribedinNRCInspeconReport05000281/2020040datedDecember30,2020 (ML20365A007).
