Emergency Plan Implementing Procedure Revisions

Pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.54(q)(5), and 10 CFR 72.44(f),

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is submitting a description of changes to the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) Radiological Emergency Plan (REP). The affected documents are the WBN Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures (EPIP) listed below:

Description of Changes

EPIP-3 Revision 52 enacted the following changes:

Section 3.5: Removal of Caution referencing Early Dismissal.

Section 3.5: Removal of Note referring to Early Dismissal, removal of step 2 initiating EPIP-8 Attachment 8 for Early Dismissal, and renumbered the following step accordingly.

• Attachment 5 Section 2.0: Removal of Caution regarding timing of Early Dismissal and removal of reference to "Early Dismissal" from step 1.

• Attachment 5 Section 2.0: Removal of step 2 for initiation of EPIP-8 Attachment 8, "Early Dismissal," and renumbered the following step accordingly; Removal of Note regarding timing of Early Dismissal.

• Attachment 7 Section 4.0: Removal of Caution regarding timing of Early Dismissal and removal of "Early Dismissal" from step 1.

• Attachment 7 Section 4.0: Removal of step 2 initiation of EPIP-8 Attachment 8, "Early Dismissal," and renumbered the following step accordingly.

EPIP-8 Revision 36 enacted the following changes:

• Removed all reference to "Early Dismissal" including deletion of General Information regarding Early Dismissal in section 3. 1 and former section 3.2, "Early Dismissal."

• Removal of Attachment 8, "Early Dismissal," from Section 4.2 Non QA Records, and removal of former Attachment 8, "Early Dismissal Instructions. "

• Some pages, attachments, and sections have been re-numbered due to deletions.

The above changes were evaluated in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q)(3) and 10 CFR 72.44(f). TVA determined that the changes did not reduce the effectiveness of the WBN REP. The WBN REP, as revised, continues to meet the requirements in Appendix E to 10 CFR 50 and the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b).
