Thank you for your January 23, 2023 MEMORANDUM.I am submitting a limited appearance statement in order to make the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board aware of my concerns at issue in the subject proceeding.
I am very concerned about the new nuclear weapons facility proposed to be built in Erwin, TN. Please do not approve this - it puts our region's population at risk, and even puts people far away at risk. We now know that nuclear war could kill many millions instantly, and cause cancer and famine for years afterward. This tells us that the manufacture of nuclear weapons is bringing us peace but terror. We are asked to accept this terror, and the game of chicken. But you have the power to turm us away from (or at least not toward) catastrophe. Please do not grant permission for the new nuclear bomb plant to be built in Erwin, YN.
