ACCEPTANCE OF UPDATED DECOMMISSIONING DOCUMENTS FOR NFS - ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER L-2021-DFA-0009 Date: Tuesday, January 25, 2022 12:36:00 PM

Dear Mr. Knowles:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has received your letter dated November 30, 2021, transmitting an updated Decommissioning Funding Plan and cost estimate per the requirements set forth in 10 CFR 70.25(e)(2). The cover letter is available in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession Number ML21343A049.

We have completed our acceptance review of your submittal and have identified no administrative omissions or deficiencies that would prevent us from proceeding with a detailed review. Your request has been assigned Enterprise Project Identifier (EPID) L-2021-DFA-0009. Please reference that EPID number and Docket Number 70-143 in any future correspondence associated with this request.

Please note that the NRC staffs technical review of your submittal may identify issues that require additional information. Based on our preliminary review and projection of current review schedules, we anticipate completing our review by June 22, 2022. This date could change depending on the findings of our technical review, urgent assignments, or other factors. We will promptly communicate any significant changes to this schedule. In addition, the NRC staff estimates that completing the review of your submittal will require up to 100 staff hours, which corresponds to about $28,800.00 ($288.00/hr.)

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or electronically from the Publicly Available Records System component of ADAMS. The PDR is currently closed. You may submit your request to the PDR via email at PDR.Resource@nrc.gov or call 1-800-397-4209 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.
