RENEWAL OF INITIAL CERTIFICATE AND AMENDMENT NOS. 1 THROUGH 8 OF CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 1025 FOR NAC MULTI-PURPOSE CANISTER SYSTEM (CAC/EPID NOS. 001028/L-2019-RNW-0029)

As requested in your application dated December 18, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML19357A178), as supplemented on August 10, 2021 (ML21231A154), March 18, 2022 (ML22077A831), July 22, 2022 (ML22203A127), and December 21, 2022 (ML22355A119), the initial certificate and renewed Amendment Nos. 1 through 8 of Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 1025 for the NAC Multi-Purpose Canister (NAC-MPC) System have been renewed (ML23255A244). The certificates have been renewed for an additional 40-year term that expires on February 5, 2063, in accordance with the provisions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 72, Section 72.40 (10 CFR 72.240). The renewal of these certificates constitutes the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRC) approval for continued use of the NAC-MPC Storage System for storage of spent nuclear fuel under the general licensing provisions of 10 CFR Part 72, Subpart K General License for Storage of Spent Fuel of Power Reactor Sites, subject to the conditions in the renewed certificate. These conditions require the implementation of an approved aging management program (AMP) to ensure that structures, systems, and components important to safety will continue to perform their intended functions during the extended storage period authorized by the renewal.
As stated in the Federal Register (88 FR 63833, September 18, 2023), the effective date of this CoC is October 17, 2023. The NRC staffs final safety evaluation report for the renewal of the certificates, and appendix A, Technical Specifications, for each renewed certificate are also
