August 5, 2022 VIA EMAIL Michelle Mitchum, Chief Pine Hill Indian Tribe, the First People of Fort Jackson 4055 Coburg Lane Orangeburg, SC 29115 pinehillndn@yahoo.com

SUBJECT:

CORRESPONDENCE RELATED TO THE PROPOSED LICENSE RENEWAL FOR THE WESTINGHOUSE COLUMBIA FUEL FABRICATION FACILITY IN RICHLAND COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA (DOCKET NUMBER: 70-1151)

Dear Chief Michelle Mitchum:

Thank you for your August 2, 2022, letter which I have added to our Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) website at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html.

The August 2, 2022, letter to NRC (ML22215A195) identified an error in the addressee block of the NRC staffs July 29, 2022, letter (ML22206A234) to you regarding completion of its environmental review of the application submitted by Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC to renew its special nuclear material (SNM) license SNM-1107 to continue to operate the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility for an additional 40 years. The July 29, 2022, letter addressee block was incorrectly addressed to the Pine Hill Indian Community Development Initiative instead of the Pine Hill Indian Tribe. It appears we inadvertently copied the information from a separate line in your signature block.

We re-issued the July 29, 2022, letter to Pine Hill Indian Tribe via email on August 2, 2022, and have also mailed a hard copy to the correct address (ML22214A149). We reviewed our earlier communications with the Pine Hill Indian Tribe regarding the environmental review and did not identify any other correspondence with the addressee error, and therefore did not identify the need to re-issue any other correspondence.

Sincerely, Signed by Imboden, Stacey on 08/05/22 Stacey Imboden, Senior Project Manager Division of Rulemaking, Environmental, and Financial Support Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Docket No. 70-1151 License No. SNM-1107
