OF MARCH 9, 2021, CLOSED MEETING WITH HOLTEC INTERNATIONAL AND U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGARDING TOPICAL REPORT FOR ALLOWANCE OF HEAT LOAD PATTERNS IN HI-STORM 100 AND HI-STORM FW SYSTEMS On March 9, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed meeting with representatives from Holtec International (Holtec). The purpose of this meeting was for Holtec and NRC staff to discuss the draft safety evaluation (SE) with open items for the Topical Report for Allowance of Heat Load Patterns in Hi-Storm 100 and Hi-Storm FW Systems. The meeting was noticed on February 26, 2021, and is available at the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21057A313.

During the meeting, Holtec representatives and NRC staff discussed the open items identified in the NRC staffs draft SE with open items. Holtec representatives discussed how they planned to address each open item to confirm their understanding of what was needed to close each open item. The NRC staff provided clarification on a couple of the open items in the draft SE.

As a result of the discussion, there was alignment regarding the path forward for closing out the open items identified. Holtec will formally submit its responses to the open items for the NRC staff review to resolve the open items. Holtec representatives indicated that they would let the NRC staff know when they plan to submit the responses to the open items.
